Resource of the Week – Free Foreclosure Counseling for Washington Residents

This week’s featured resource is the Foreclosure Fairness Program.

The Foreclosure Fairness Program provides Washington homeowners facing foreclosure the opportunity to talk to a housing counselor and, if necessary, be referred to mediation with their lender.

Mediation is a process where the mediator helps the homeowner and the lender reach a fair, voluntary, and negotiated agreement. Foreclosure mediation programs have proven effective in reducing foreclosures in other states.

For more information about the program visit www.homeownership.wa.gov or call 1.877.894.HOME.
