Washington Program Helps Homeowners Avoid Foreclosure

The Washington Homeownership Information Program has helped 1,303 consumers since March 1, 2008. 610 consumers have received pre-purchase counseling and 693 have received post-purchase counseling.


165 homeowners have received counseling that helped achieve a result other than foreclosure, with a large majority of homeowners remaining in their homes. Some 451 consumers are currently receiving post-purchase counseling.

The homeownership.wa.gov Web site has received nearly 24,000 visits since its March 1, 2008 launch.
